Amanda Ellsworth, M.S. (candidate), is an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for Florida Gulf Coast University. She is licensed through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as a Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Inspector and monitors campus stormwater systems. She is involved with multiple environmental efforts including FGCU’s stormwater permitting compliancy, environmental outreach, and education. She serves as a community partner and advisor for numerous undergraduate service-learning and research projects that focus on campus-based water quality monitoring. Ellsworth will earn her Master’s degree from FGCU in Environmental Science in 2018. She recently co-authored a scientific publication in the Journal for Harmful Algae focusing on developing a successful monitoring procedure for seafood poisonings (ciguatera) in the Florida Keys. She is co-chair for the 27th Annual Southwest Florida Water Resources Conference and has been active in the American Water Resources Association for many years.
