The outstanding technical Southwest Florida Water Resources Conference is hosted in collaboration by nine professional societies and public interest groups, as the premier event in water resources technical and professional exchange in southwest Florida. It will be held this year at the Cohen Center Ballroom, Friday January 21, 2022.
Schedule:
- Submit your abstract at www.swfwrc.org/submit-abstract anytime up to January 16, 2022. Abstracts submitted after the deadline may not be accepted.
- Authors of accepted posters will be notified within two days of abstract submission.
- Accepted posters must be submitted as PDF files by 7pm, Thursday, January 20.
- Students accepted for the contest will present their posters either through virtual (online) presentation or in person at the Conference venue. Posters can be set up between 10:00 AM and noon at either the virtual portal or the Cohen Center Ballroom. Students must remain with their poster for at least 30 minutes after set up for viewing and judging.

Abstracts should be between 250 and 400 words. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Poster Subcommittee of the Conference Organizing Committee, and we will invite posters from abstracts we accept. We will look for abstracts that are well-written, describe strong research methods and findings, and relate to one of the many fields of water resources. All accepted abstracts will be published in a Conference Proceedings on the Southwest Florida Water Resources Conference web site; on the American Water Resources Association, Florida Section website; and at other host institutions.
Posters will be judged by the Poster Judging Technical Committee for originality, technical merit, currency, and relevance to the field of water resources in two categories, Graduate Student and Undergraduate / Secondary Student.
First, Second, and Third Place recognitions will be awarded in each category. Cash prizes will also be distributed with the specific amounts determined by the total sponsorships received by date of the Conference.
